Ever since the release of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S back in late 2020, we've been hearing about emulators that are supported on the two systems. We wouldn't suggest trying these for yourself, but nevertheless it's fascinating to see that these two consoles are becoming emulation powerhouses.

The latest Xbox Series XS emulator that's been getting a massive amount of attention lately is something called "Xenia", which has just launched on Xbox over the past few days. Simply put, this is an Xbox 360 emulator that in theory could support all 2000+ Xbox 360 games and make them playable on Xbox Series XS in the future.

At least for me personally I don't see the point behind the obsession with emulators for 360. Most of the worthwhile 360 era games either are available in BC, or already have remasters/remakes available. The one game from that era I am deeply missing is MGS4 that is still stuck on PS3, do something Konami! You fools!

@Lup You can download Retroarch on Series X in a legal way, in retailer mode, via gamr13. I did it and I played some N64 and GameCube games. Mario Kart Double Dash looks infinitely better than on GameCube and Wii/Wii U. When I play that game on Nintendo hardware it looks really blurry on my TV. If one day Microsoft feels like, they can remove all emulators from the Xbox platform but I really believe that they will never ban users, the worst scenario would be banning the app and an error saying you can't play the app if you already have it. That's my opinion, if somebody disagrees they can tell me. It's obvious that Xbox users have their libraries in legal form and Microsoft is not paranoid about emulation of older titles as Nintendo is.

A bit of theory: reWASD emulates the Xbox 360 controller, and that takes the functionality to the new level. You can assign Toggle, Turbo to controller button actions, and create controller button key combos. As a result, the game will recognize the controller input, except it will be not a physical gamepad, but the one an Xbox controller emulator created.

Create a new blank text file with the name of the game followed by the extension .xbox360.1) Open this text file and enter the filename of the title. Place this text file in the same directory as the title.

In a video uploaded earlier this week, Xenia, by Ben Vanik, is seen running Frogger 2, released on Xbox Live Arcade in 2008. This exactly.we really are in a 2nd generation of no backwards compat not the first.Even launch model PS3s had issues with the ps2 emotion engine being physically in the machine.most of my orig xbox games dont work on 360 besides Shenmue 2 and Halo.

I have had almost no interest in getting an Xbox one, however if this does come to fruition and you are able to pop in 360 discs I will lean towards buying one, if you can pop in regular xbox games also I would definitely buy one.

What if they made a way to load the old xbox 360 game cd on the xbox one cd tray, copy it to HD and an update app that runs the older game could do the rest? Something to think about as if they do this not only they would have millions upgrading their consoles but also having to spend no extra cash on games they already own! Now THAT would be a ps4 killer!

At E3, Microsoft announced that Xbox One will be the only console to support backward compatibility natively for select Xbox 360 games, for free, and all with Xbox One features including screenshots, broadcasting and GameDVR. Backward compatibility is one of the most-requested fan features, and more than 100 classic Xbox 360 games will be available at launch, with more to come. Microsoft has revealed that Xbox One Backward Compatibility is an Xbox 360 emulator that runs on Xbox One and is used to play Xbox 360 games. When you start a Xbox 360 game on Xbox One, a virtual Xbox 360 loads inside Xbox One to run the game.

We call it backward compatibility because gamers can play select Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One. However, referring to this functionality as an emulator is more accurate from a technology perspective since the Xbox One is not technically reading and playing the 360 game off of a disc. 041b061a72
